André René Roussimoff was born in May 19, 1946 but was best known as André the Giant. He was a French professional wrestler and actor. His great size was the result of acromegaly, and led to him being dubbed “The Eighth Wonder of the World.” In the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), Roussimoff briefly held the WWF Championship.
When André was about 17 years old, his size was almost 2 meters.
Despite the fact that he was an inexperienced wrestler, he managed to win against great wrestlers. André died at the age of 46 in his sleep of a heart attack on January 27, 1993, in a Paris hotel room. He was in Paris to attend the funeral of his father. André’s body was cremated in accordance with his wishes and his ashes scattered at his ranch in Ellerbe, North Carolina. Rest in Peace Andre the Giant.
