"SCOTTY McCREERY" | SCOTTY McCREERY Pictures | SCOTTY McCREERY at American Idol's

American Idol Season 10 Top 12 finalist Scotty McCreery is 17 years old and is originally from Garner, NC. Scotty auditioned for Idol in Milwaukee, WI.

This young Country Crooner is stealing hearts across America. Scotty sings pure, old-time Country Music, and this has garnered him a very loyal following...including the 3 Idol judges! Randy Jackson has said, “If it ain’t broke, don’t even think about fixing it. Dude, this is exactly where you belong. Don’t change it. I love it.” Steven Tyler, always with a colorful turn of phrase, told Scotty, “The carpet is all paid for, God bless the TV, let's go shoot a hole in the moon! You’re riding high.”

The judges were struck by his deep baritone voice, unusual for his age. In the Hollywood group round, he joined the "Guaps" and became embroiled in drama when Clint Jun Gamboa expelled Jacee Badeaux from their group. Scotty manned up, and later expressed regret for not standing up for Jacee. He was one of the five male vote getters in the semi-final round to advance to the Top 13.

Scotty's favorite quote is from the Bible, Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Scotty has named Hank Williams, Garth Brooks, Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash and Elvis as his musical influences.
